A story will be shared and read in each Story Snack class and kids will recreate a dish from the story or create one inspired by it. This class will connect kids to books, food literacy, language and social skills.

Join us and dive into the charming tale of “Sylvia’s Spinach” by Katherine Pryor, followed by a hands-on cooking session to bring the story to life.

In this captivating Story Snack class, we’ll embark on a journey with Sylvia, a young girl who learns to embrace the nutritious and delicious world of spinach. Through the engaging narrative, we’ll explore themes of healthy eating and the joy of discovering new flavors. After we’ve savored the story, we’ll get to work in the kitchen, creating a comforting and flavorful spinach penne dish.

Our instructor will teach you valuable culinary skills and by the end of the workshop, you’ll not only have a delicious, piping-hot spinach penne dish to enjoy, but you’ll also leave with a newfound appreciation for the power of storytelling and the delight of cooking with fresh, wholesome ingredients.
